I read that it was 3ft long but that did not process in my mind until I actually opened the box. Did you plan to use it for a costume?

I just received a blue Retro Lancer in the mail today to go with my Marcus Fenix costume. I DID NOT expect it to be this big. It will weigh more than my chest plate I think. I might paint it silver, but only if I have time.
I spent 12 hours today working on my costume and finally connected both shoulder pads and worked on the back of the armor which I connected to the front. I decided to do a bit of photoshop magic to help me get an idea of proportion to the actual armor. So far, it seems almost spot on in proportion, of course I am not 6’2” like Marcus is nor do I have tree trunk muscles, but I have to work with what I have.
